Sylvie’s Countertops

My friend Sylvie recently moved into a new apartment and asked me to help her re-tile her countertops. I had never done something like this before but I was confident I had enough experience to do the job. Our first step was to peel up all the tile around the sink and scrape off as much paint as possible from the painted countertop. The we bonderized the countertops to seal the surfaces before adhering the tiles.

Sylvie laid out all the tiles exactly where she wanted them. As soon as we finished cutting all of the irregular shaped tiles we mixed the adhesive and laid the tiles.

The last step will be to grout. Because the adhesive needs to sit for 24 we had to stop for the night. So far it’s looking great!
